WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PARASAILING?

We have put together a list of FAQs for UFO Parasail at our Ka’anapali, Maui and Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i locations! Check it out so you can see more in depth what our tours consist of and feel free to reach out to us directly with any further questions. We hope to have you out with us! Mahalo!
- How many people can we have on the boat?
- For our shared charters we cap capacity at 8 people. For private charters at our Maui location we can take up to 12, at our Kona location we take up to 10 max.

2. How many people can parasail at the same time?
- We can take up to 3 passengers in the chute at a time. Prices are per person whether flying alone, double, or triple. You will book the total number of people in your party and then advise the captain of how you’d like to fly on board – solo, tandem or threesome. The minimum weight to fly alone is 160 pounds (73 kilos), and the maximum weight for doubles and triples is 450-550 pounds (204-250 kilos). All flight combinations are at the discretion of the captain based on safety, wind, and sea conditions.
- We can take up to 3 people in the parasail at a time. Max weight is around 500-550 lbs (204-250 kilos) depending on sea and wind conditions. Book online for the amount of people who would like to fly and discuss it with your captain and crew on board for final determination. We do also take non flying observers who can always upgrade while on the boat if they decide to!

3. How long do tours take? How long are you in the air for?
- Our tours take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour total depending on flight count. We have to different ride options to choose from; 800 ft of line for 6 minutes or 1200 ft of line for 9 minutes.

4. Do you take photos or video?
- We do currently offer a photo package. Our crew is set up with a Nikon D3500 camera with a 300mm zoom lens. Photos are taken of every flight with the option to purchase before or after. It is $29 directly through UFO, or you can purchase them through the link texted to your phone number after the fact for $39. The crew shoots roughly 30-50 photos. We do not offer a video package but you are more than welcome to take pictures and video while out on the boat. Any devices brought up into the parachute are at your own risk. Feel free to tag us on Instagram or Facebook @ufoparasail/Ufo Parasail.

5. Do we get wet or need to know how to swim?
- You do not need to know how to swim to parasail. We do dry take offs and landings off the back platform of the boat, making parasailing easy for all ages and skill levels. We DO however offer an optional dip – which is highly recommended! The captain slows down the boat at the end of the flight and can skim your legs across the water, which some people think is the best part! The water temperature varies normally in the mid to high 70s so is a nice little addition to the flight.
